Had to chime in again..<br /><br />I think lots of young peeps stay out of The Movement, because when they visit our organizations or meetings, they see a lot of drama (infighting, sleeping around, etc).<br /><br />Gay men with jobs, skills and sanity seem to disappear from the Gay community. They go to work for corporate America, and go undercover.<br /><br />Gay men in healthy relationships seem to do the same thing. They disappear from the community and you never see them out together much.<br /><br />Why is that? Is our community SO toxic that if you have something good going on you have to stay away to keep it? I&#39;m just sayin&#39;... So many of our organizations die out or just become irrelevant because they change a few faces on staff every year, but their leadership and its thinking, never changes.<br /><br />Our leaders (both Black and Gay) need to learn to groom the generation coming after them (instead of just fucking them or fighting with them). A good leader knows when to step down.
