Morehouse Dress Code: I was going to let this topic go by because its not with the big blow up but since we keep having to come back to this I guess I will comment on it. Im going to take the emotional aspect out of this because its clouding our ability to see this situation rationally. People have to realize that MOREHOUSE COLLEGE IS A PRIVATE COLLEGE, NOT A PUBLIC COLLEGE! They can set and enforce ANY dress code it seems fit PERIOD. This dress code is not new, its has been around for years and they have for what ever reason chose not to enforce it and now they are. They are still in their rite to do this. The students knew about this code and chose to still attend the institution anyway. Therefore, it is time to suck it up and pull the dress clothes out. In a classroom or official colleg function a man in heels and with a purse is distracting and NO ONE HAS THE RITE TO DISRUPT THE LEARNING PROCESS.

We need to keep this thing in perspective. They have outlawed gold teeth, baggy pants and other items as well so its not just purses and heels.

Bottom line in my opinion this is not about trying to get closed minded people to accept a lifestyle they dont see as "right" (because that fight will continue to go on forever), this is about a dress code and as a private institution they have a rite to set it as they see fit. If we dont agree with it FINE but lets not spin this into something its not. Seperate the masculinity and femininity debate from this because its clouding our ability to see this rationally.

WENDY WILLIAMS ON BLEU COVER...

Putting Wendy Williams on the Bleu cover just shows how desperate we are as a community for acceptance in the mainstream.

Why would you lift up someone who doesn't lift up you? Has Wendy spoken out on her show about any of the Gay bashings that have happened recently in her own city? Has she had any openly Gay guests on to discuss homophobia in the Black community? HAS SHE EVER SHOWN UP FOR ANY GAY EVENT WITHOUT GETTING A CHECK FOR IT?

C'mon people. We can do better than her.
